Kalumburu Community Store

Rosina, Graham and staff welcome you to our site and wish you a pleasant visit to the beautiful Kalumburu Region. Built in the mid 1990’s the Ur'aro Store was established to service the population of Kalumburu Community in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Its management structure strengthens the ability of the community to manage its own enterprise through an effective governing committee, ensuring it is commercially viable and giving access to affordable and healthy foods, groceries, clothing, white goods and general hardware.

Our Store Aims include:

• target nutritional health and implement methods to improve the supply of quality, fresh foods
• lower the cost of living for Kalumburu Community Members
• create training and mainstream employment within the community
• build methodologies and practices to ensure accountability, transparency and effective governance
